Taking the Spanish abarca sandal as the starting point and experimenting with the front leather part gave birth to 5 sandal styles: Uno, Dos, Tres, Cuatro, Cinco & Atelier. Each is unique, yet all retain signature features of the abarca: the stitches around the sole and the distinctive strap behind the heel that makes it easy to slip on and off.

-- The Abarca Story --

The abarca

The abarcas are traditional Spanish sandals made from leather with recycled rubber soles. They were originally worn by farmers back in the 1920s and were handmade by artisans on the island of Menorca in the Baleares. Today they are deeply rooted in Spanish culture.

The Mania for Kinas

So this popular Spanish sandal, is where it all started. It sparked KinaMania's adventure. KinaMania is a brand name with roots in menorquina, the alternative name for the abarca which was originally handmade on the island of Menorca in the Baleares. The mania for Kinas is born from menorquina mania.
